My Journey

My name is Juan Santos, I am a Licensed Counselor in NC who loves helping mental health professionals reach their goals while making their mark. I believe that if counselors can reach success in private practice they in turn can better support those that they serve.

A little bit about myself right off the back, I an ambitious person with a lot of energy.

Like most counselors in the field, I had little to no idea of how to start a private practice.

My first year out of graduate school, I found myself in a really lucky position. Thinking back, I feel quite blessed. I was able to learn the foundation of building a successful private practice from Dr. Robin Dock. She is this amazing person, who has truly shared her skills and knowledge with me.

About six months into my journey, I went from contracting at a private practice to opening up shop. I guess you can see why I shared earlier that I am ambitious.

Here is a little background story for you.

I have the perfect partner in life. My wife. You see, she is calm and rational. She is practical and likes to think things through before making a decision. I, on the other hand, see what I want and I go for it. I guess, in part that’s because I grew up in a household where my dad was an entrepreneur.

My parents brought me to the U.S when I was 6 years old. Growing up with immigrant parents really pushed a philosophy in my household. A motivation of moving forward. A desire to help others.

In my journey of private practice, my wife has and continues to be the driving force. She is on one end of the spectrum and I, at the other. Together, we made this journey. We created our private practice and work as a unit on every project since.

That’s part of my story. Part of who I am and how I got here.

You see, I want to share with you not just my business or consulting skills. I want you to get to know me and I want to get to know you.

In my years of working with professionals, I have found that building genuine relationships enriches the learning process.
